Viking's country

June 26th / Bad Bederkesa-Hirsthals : 597 km

Jour 3

Pff, camping ground was made of sand, now there is some sticked on my tent because of humidity, and soon some in my luggages too. Well, anyway I 'll clean it this evening once it's dry. There is nobody on the road this sunday morning, and outskirts are pretty nice. First stop to cross with a ferrie a huge river on the north of Hamburg : the Elbe. On a boat with my bike. As I only did it once in Camargue, it seems still funny now, but it will turn to be quite usual in the coming days, but I don't know it yet. It's anyway a good opportunity to meet people. A German guy asks me where I come from : 'Paris, oooh, that's far away'. Then he asks me where I go, I show him on a map and then...'oooh, even more far away !' Yep !!

L'Elbe

And i'm already on the other side. Let's go back to the highway, with cruising speed that could make people tell about me on TV news in France. Fuel reserve indicator lights on, I stop in a gas station. I go to the shop for paying, making the effort to speak German. The woman tells me that this is not 'die', but 'das' for a pump, saying iit a way which reminds me the crazy german teacher I had in high school. So, I answer in english, she doesn't understand anything and I go. At 12, I cross the border and enter in Denmark. First impression is that excepted color of road sign, it's the same than in Germany.

Village Danois

I cross the continental part of the country, the Jylland, form south to north. I still have a little fear with fule after 30 km on reserve, but, at the end of the day, I enter in Hirstals, on top north of Denmark. Here shall I sail tomorrow to Norway. I 'm surprised to see how sand is white. I have a few look at the harbour in order to don't get lost tomorrow.
